Apres ski guide to Morzine

Once the day’s skiing is done its only natural to want to celebrate those on piste triumphs and relive the hairier moments with a glass or two in one of Morzine’s many bars and restaurants. As a long time resident of the valley, Jes knows a thing or two about where to find the best places to finish your day out and about.

Morzine has no shortage of après ski to satisfy everyone’s tastes and needs. Whether you are a family group looking for a few beers while the kids enjoy post -ski-school crepes, or a group of friends looking to make the most of the local nightlife, one thing is for sure, you have plenty of choice in Morzine. Directly on the piste at the foot of the Pleney gondola you have one of Morzine’s liveliest and most popular après ski venues in Hotel Tremplin. Enjoy an Aperol Spritz, Mojito or simply a beer whilst you dance away to their resident DJ’s and occasional live bands from around 4-8pm each day. 

Just across the street you can find a more relaxed vibe at the restaurants Le Colibri and L’Etale who, on a few evenings per week also have some live music that you can enjoy before a scrumptious early dinner. Next door you will find the Tibetan Cafe who again have a resident live band or DJ each day and The Cavern Bar which usually hosts some more below key acoustic style live music to sit and relax and enjoy a beer to and discuss your favourite piste of the day.

If sitting and chatting with a select wine and light tapas is more your style on the tourist square you will find the artfully decorated Le Coupe de Cœur with its wonderful terrace over looking the ice rink, complete with warm blankets and heat lamps. Let the children have fun in the square under your watchful eye while the adults enjoy a tipple or two. 

A quick wander down the Rue du Bourg towards the older part Morzine you will find perennial favorites Bar Robinson (aka Robbos) where you can enjoy a pint or two of its famous Mutzig beer! If an Irish Bar is what you are looking for then The Dixie Bar is your perfect destination. There are large TV screens to watch your latest sports game and if you’re lucky enough you may be in town when they host the famous Irish band The Dixie Micks. Next door at the Rhodos you can enjoy an open night mic with a free beer or shot for performers every week – let us know if the limelight is calling and we will make sure we let you know which day during your stay!

Should you choose to finish your day in Les Gets then a lively atmosphere awaits at the foot of the slopes at L’Apreski Bar Resto on the Frond de Neige or alternatively a short wander into town and you will usually find live music at Le Boomerang and the party of all parties thrown by it’s Australian owner if you happen to be in town on Australia Day!

Just a stones throw from the Ardent bubble is  the very lively Happy Hours Bar. Most evenings, and especially on Wednesday, you will find all the seasonaires enjoying their day off and dancing on the tables and downing Jagerbombs! Just next door you can enjoy a quieter beer in the apt named bar Le Cosy. Should you choose to have a late lunch in The Village of the Goats just up the hill at Les Lindarets you will find the resident DJ spinning your favourite tunes to bop along to several afternoons a week at La Terrasse Des Lindarets accompanies by stunning views across the valley.

And last but not least we have the World Famous La Folie Douce Avoriaz situated a few 100m’s from the head of the Prodain gondola. From world famous DJ’s, to endless magnums of champagne and scantily clad dancers its the ultimate alpine apres experience with feel of any nightclub in Ibiza right on the slopes everyday of the week!
